JB Trip.. =)

Brought my parents and aunt to JB yesterday....just one word to describe...SHIOK!

Anyone wants me to be their tourguide??? =p
Lend me ur car, n i can drive to Jusco (Tebrau City) n Citisquare for u... !

9am - set off to Kranji MRT to take SBS bus 170 to the checkpoint.

11am - reached Citi Square. This is the nearest shopping centre nearest the checkpoint. It is very commercialise and 'Singaporeanise'.... U should not miss these shops there which are not available in Singapore... I MUST got to these 3 if i m there....
1) Vinci shoes
2) Padini Concept Shop - local brands
3) Reject Shop
4) Labelsz - very nice local affordable clothings

There is a travel fair and also performances.. Here are some pics:-

**See how packed this place is...good if you like crowded places, bad if you want something different from the shopping centres in Singapore.
**This is the foodcourt at Citi Square. Nice, big & spacious. But it's really like Singapore. Something to recommend is the Malay Rice Stalls. You can pick n choose, any quantity...WhoHoo!
**Try to walk to the end and turn right. There is a nice clear glass environment...good to enjoy your food... =p

2pm - shopped till 2pm and we left to Tebrau City. One of the largest shopping complex in JB. Very new as well. You can find most of the famous brands over there, Jusco is there! Taxi takes about RM$18.00 for a cab of 4 pax. This is shopping paradise...........Here are the shops u cannot miss!!!!
1) Voir
2) Colors Shoppe - very nice authentic dresses, only 1 piece each.
3) Polka Dots - very sweet clothes
4) Genada
5) Vinci Shoes
6) Padini Concept Shop

Here are some pics:-

**This is like our own Yakun....not bad...the drinks and kaya bread is good! My parents & aunt are enjoying themselves.... =p

**This is DUNKIN DONUTS!!! No longer available in Singapore....alot of Singaporeans 'TABO' it back....my favourite too!

5pm - Shopped till about this time.....then proceed to have dinner! Seafood!!! Proceed to 'Da Ma Garden'....Taxi about RM$18.00 again...nice nice...Super cheap...I ate the Black pepper crab! Yummy!!!!

This is the stall which you all can try, the boss is quite nice, not that kind that will 'knock' your money out of you...
**Look at all the stingrays man.....yummy!

**The crowd will start to pour in at 7pm. So if you want to avoid the crowd and get your food fast, a good time is 6pm... =)

**Nearby this stall..there are fruit stalls...but be careful. Heard that they will purposely charge very high prices for the fruits if they can see you are a "big carrot cake".
This guy was quite nice...good prices for rambutans..my mum bought some back!

At about 7pm, we left for Singapore...home sweet home... =)

Tired..but I'm very very happy with my shopping!!!! Shall add on a separate page.....lalala... =p

Bridget Jones ???

Stumbled across this article ....this is interesting...it sets me thinking.... Being single is so common now..... no need to tie myself down or commit to something.... After watching the TCS 8 show at 9pm, this even more confirmed that single is better???
No quarrels, no worries, no unhappiness, no commitments, no expectations..... =)

Here is the article...it surely is interesting for those who are single n wants to remain single...
I totally share the same sentiments as this person who wrote it....similar scenarios man... =p
Shall highlight my comments in Pink... hee...

“Your Expectations Are TOOOO High Dearrrr …”
I stared back at my ex-colleagues.
We haven’t met for a year & they were firing questions off the list. “When are you getting married? No answer. “Why no boyfriend yet?”. Still no answer. These questions always makes me cringe. If you play dumb & dumber, the concerned ones will eventually come up with the “expectations” theory before shutting up.
**YES...this is the kind of qns I keep on getting from frens n relatives! ARGH!!!

You can almost instinctively feel it coming. Like there’s no other universal explanation for your singlehood. And when you try to defend yourself, you can almost heard it “tick tock… tick tock….” emitting from the question-bearer. If I am part of a couplehood, I am viewed as part of the normal human race. If I am single, my existence only adds to the statistics of singlehood, or is it singledoom?
**Totally agree... it just seems so wrong to be single sometimes....well.....is there something wrong with this??? Be attached and unhappy OR be single and happy?

I can see why Bridget Jones’s Diary is such a cult success with two bestsellers & blockbuster. Like her, I am single, so why shouldn’t I celebrate too? In fact, a not-so-close male friend put it across not so gently one day. “What’s your age sweetie”? “Why?” I try to evade, then sensing his stare, I mumbled …… 28. “Really? You better step up the gear big girl”, he roared, “ two more years & your C.O.E will expire!!!!” he continued. I stared back again. It seems a natural thing to do.
**Yes...girls reaching 30yrs...C.O.E expires... i have 5 more years to hit this man....well..i believed vintage cars are valuable as well??? =p

What’s the point of arguing or defending your “single & available” status? I was made to feel like a Bridget Jones. Is that good or bad, I think to myself. She gets nagged by her mum for remaining dateless, clueless & boyfriendless. Well, I seemed to share that inclination. I remembered my mum had my fortunes read while I was young & the wise one predicted I would get hitched by 28. I am 28 going on 29 in les than 6 months, perhaps I should hunt him down to do a recalculation on my love chart. That’s resigning myself to fate.
**Well, luckily for me, my parents somehow knows that i prefer to be single. Being very hurt once, and they saw how badly hit i was... I guess they rather see me single and happy! The fortune teller said that i'll meet "The ONE" at the age of 27...well....let's see then..... Right now..happily single at 25... hee!

Luck is not on my side, I haven’t bumped into “The One” yet. Planet Venus was kind to me at 26 & I applied for a HDB flat. Then, I blew it off when I realized he’s not “The One”. He is a control-freak with a temper. It’s a blessing in disguise. Six months after we broke off, I heard he ended up with a shotgun arrangement. I wonder if he’s “just married” or “happily married”. There's a fine line between both.
**Almost similar..i thought i would marry 'him'...my world revolve around 'him'....everything is about 'him'. Once 'he' is gone, everything collapsed. Right now, I've picked myself up again... i want to stay this way..happy go lucky.. Not sure what is 'his' status now...well....i dun want to know.. =p

It’s funny, maybe I’ve heard too many married couples screwing around. There’s no such thing as pleading eternal love. Like they say, “Love is Blind, Marriage restore your Sight”. My best friend, also a swinging single, suggested an alternative solemnization plead. It should be “a term of 5 years with an option to renew for another 5 years, to be mutually agreed upon”.
**This is true. Out of 10, 8 of my girl frens will tell me not to get married. Marriage sucks! Most of them do not love their hubby anymore, but focus entirely on their children. Some of them regretted marriage as they cannot advance in their career anymore....well...many of them are divorced as well...such an ugly picture....SIGH

PERHAPS I NOT READY TO SETTLE DOWN YET, that’s it. I loved being a Bridget Jones. In fact, there’s lots of Bridget Jones around. Sumiko Tan in Sunday Plus talks about her singlehood. So does Guru aka Moro Chubb-Baggins at Hotspots in his article “Oh My God! I will be 32!” and SwissMango's “When all Your Friends get Married”.
**Yes....at my fren's recent ROM session, when the pastor start asking "those qns"..i was staring blankly and told myself..i will not be able to answer "i do".... i still enjoy my freedom...enjoy doing whatever i want to do...enjoy being with my parents... =)

There should be a radical change to the singlehood theory. It’s not all doom & hopelessness. It should be “I love being a Bridget Jones”. Love will eventually arrive when one doesn’t search too hard. Emotional baggage may withhold many from seeking it, perhaps like SwissMango, Sumiko Tan, Guru aka Moro Chubb-Baggins ,Ally McBeal, Bridget Jones & me (a.n.a AllyCat).
**Yes..i agree....i rather be single then to settle down for the sake of settling down.... Unless i'm quite sure that guy will take care of me well...maybe i can buy insurance for marriage??? haha! Not goin to choose just 'anyone'... hee...=p

Choosing to remain single is a universal social trend, embrace it & be shameless about it. Bridget Jones are everywhere, both male & female. I am one & there’s nothing wrong with being single. Previously cursing my luck at the missing Planet Venus, I’ve learnt to live with it & proudly declare myself a Bridget Jones. It’s a choice. I’ll worry about the missing Planet Venus much much later. Life is short but love will arrive at my door eventually. I may even get a Car Bumper sticker with the headline "I Love Being a Bridget Jones".
**Yes!!!! This is a CHOICE... hee hee...and also stupid me...i kept on liking guys that are out of reach.... guys who are attached, guys whom we are simply too familiar with each other to begin anything, guys who are out just for fun... well............hopefully i'll like a 'goodie 2-shoe' guy soon... =p

appearance only....

Well....many good things happened to me this week...but somehow...why m i still not happy???
Just like today.....

I've managed to clinch a big big deal with one of the prestigious dept stores in Singapore. Deal is worth 1/4 million..but why am i still unhappy? Maybe because I m not commission based...Management, colleagues all came to congrats me. We lost this client last year and they praise me that I m able to win this deal back this yr..but..y i m still unhappy????

BECOS...this client is a tough one...not that i do not want to face challenges..but somehow i feel lost...had to go through all the difficult things alone.....boss seems to think i know everything.. but heh...i'm only in the publishing/printing line for 4 months??????

Well...today the supplier came to talk about the ink colors....everyone thought that the colors looked ok. But to me...the colors SUCK!
I just stood there and stare blankly...wondering if i should say something as i was the most junior there.... but i think i want to say it as this is my DEAL...

I just said politely "the colors are not good, pls redo." The technician just stared at me with a look like "heh little girl, do u know wat u r saying??" .
All of them looked at me with a wierd look.....i jus stood forward...tear the colored papers out...and put them side by side.... maybe it's my previous job as a merchandiser, i m super sensitive to colors.
Then they saw the difference. Everyone just shut up...

At this point, my GM walked pass as this is a big project. He got to know and praised me and asked me to make my decision.
well.....i did wat i feel is right....i just said "i do not like the colors at all..pls redo." This totally shoot the technician.... i guess at the end of the thing, he knows that "this little girl cannot be trifled with....." But i still have to smile nicely and say, Thank You Mr. XXX ......

well.............work is like that....have to fake n yet be firm. So that pp dun push u around...n i hate it when pp see me a small girl n thinks they know everything cos they are older.

SIANZ...........and in the sales world, u show the figures n u have the say....that's wat i realised........

zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz sianz....................

I was staring at the dog....so cute so cute....and i didn't notice that there is this big big stone in front of me.....
YEH.............i totally tripped over this stone....and i was going at super super high speed...Hence...i FLEW.....
Landed on my left hand.....twisted it...

Was in deep pain man....still tried to crack a few jokes so as not to spoil everyone's mood....but Thank Pals.....
Paul for piahing to get ice for me, Mae & Kathy for taking turns to carry my blade for me, Vince for piahing to drive his car over, Nancy for helping to bandage my arm and not forgetting my 'dear dear' Kern to lend me his towel & cut the noodles for me.. =p
Oh yes...and Dr. Kao who was there also, gave me assurance that I'm goin to be fine aft he did some 'inspection' on my bones.

OUCH.............................stupid doggie...................... =(

Although I should have went home, but didn't want to spoil everyone's mood...so went on to watch fireworks at Kallang. Hurting badly but surely, it was worth it for the beautiful fireworks!

See my super sianz look after I had my fall...
